Manny Pacquiao may or may not be losing sleep after losing his WBO welterweight title to Tim Bradley last Saturday night via a controversial split decision at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The eight-time world boxing champion in different weight classes could be insomniac lately, restless and mulling over “what could have been” from late night to the wee hours of morn.
Still, for all we know, Pac-Man could still be getting a full night's rest, having accepted that loss as just another test of his character, greatness and—now more importantly—his renewed faith.
But if there’s one principal personality who’s culpable for Pac-Man’s largely unacceptable loss that isn’t losing sleep, it's Duane Ford. He, along with co-judge Cynthia Ross, infamously scored the fight in favor of the Desert Storm.
In the judge’s own words, per Steve Carp's Twitter account:
Ford afflicted the great majority of sports fans and pundits who comfortably felt that Pacquiao was the true winner over Bradley—until the decision winner was announced. If CompuBox could feel, it would be commiserating and drinking beer with the disappointed fans for three nights straight now.
Well, Judge Ford remains comfortable with his epic decision. And here’s a judgment on his acuity (or lack of it), from a popular and lately discomforted ESPN.com sportswriter:

You've got to put the ball in the basket and Manny didn't put the ball in the basket enough. This isn't American Idol. If I judge for the people, I shouldn't be a judge. I went in with a clear mind and judged each round.Adding insult to injury to the vast majority who saw otherwise, this judge fulfilled the latter half of "Mother" Mary Jones famous words, "My business is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable."
I don't look at the punch stats but I saw Manny miss a lot of punches and Bradley hit Manny and win a lot of the exchanges. I'm comfortable with my performance. I thought Bradley gave Pacquiao a boxing lesson.
